887 hp, generated by a V8 engine and two electric power units fuel Porsche's hybrid, which made it clear who's boss with 7:13 on the Nordschleife.

BRIEF CHARACTERISTICS
The main power source is the 4.6-litre eight-cylinder engine with 608 hp. The engine is derived directly from the power unit of the successful RS Spyder long-distance racing car and therefore allows speeds of up to 9,150 /min. The V8 engine is followed by the hybrid module. Like Porsche's current hybrid models, the 918 Spyder is designed as a parallel hybrid. Essentially, the hybrid module consists of an approximately 115 kW electric motor and a separating clutch as the connecting element to the combustion engine. The parallel hybrid arrangement means that the 918 Spyder can be operated on the rear axle either individually by the combustion engine or the electric motor, or by a combination of both drives.
