Markos Statement

Testing a GT3 is always one of my hotlap highlights, since it is considered the "primal meter" of trackday-ready sports cars. Hardly any other car combines such a high degree of everyday usability with such great racetrack performance. Accordingly, I was eagerly awaiting the test candidate of the current 992 series! Porsche is used to each GT3 outperforming its predecessor in terms of performance data and lap times. The expectations were accordingly high, and I don't think I'm giving too much away when I say right away: I was not disappointed! Seats, ergonomics, steering wheel and controls are, as you would expect from Porsche, perfect. Two things I would consider the most notable performance upgrades to the current GT3: First, the wishbone front suspension, inspired by the race car version and a first for a production 911, provides turn-in response and feedback at the steering wheel that has never been seen before. In combination with the perfectly tuned suspension, the superbly balanced GT3 inspires great confidence right from the start. The ABS system and the braking system, which leave nothing to be desired and provide perfectly dosed braking, are also of the highest motorsport standard. The package is complemented by a 7-speed PDK which implements the shift commands almost intuitively, without torque overhang. After a few meters it was clear to me: The new GT3 is fast! Very fast! But the fact that with a lap time of 2:02.8 it takes a second and a half off the GT3 RS 991.2 and even gets in front of the GT2 RS (991) shows that the Porsche engineers have delivered an absolute masterpiece with the current GT3.

CONCLUSION: The current GT3 is by far the fastest GT3 Porsche has ever built! It has an incredible amount of grip on the front axle and impresses with excellent traction, very good feedback and extremely good brakes. All this creates confidence in the vehicle and the lap times show: rightly so! Who is looking for the ultimate track tool will find this in the new GT3, if he has the luck to get hold of one, because currently the delivery times for already ordered cars are more than a year!
