Markos Statement

With the C6 Z06, Corvette has finally put a vehicle on the road that has a trackday-ready chassis and brakes that can keep up with the massive engine power.
The heart of this muscle car is certainly the seven-litre V8 naturally aspirated engine, which with 512 hp and 637Nm delivers brutal power and torque without end and converts every change to the accelerator 1:1 into thrust.
Thanks to its powerful displacement, the Z06 never seems stressed at any time and constantly draws from its full capacity. Thanks to the alloys used, this engine can also handle speeds of up to 7,000 rpm.
The mechanical steering system does not feel quite as "perfect" as electromechanical ones, but it fits in with the overall character of the car and works with sufficient precision. This also applies to the 6-speed transmission: even if it does not allow "tearing through" the gears: it works precisely and allows clean gear changes.

You also have to consider that the C7 Z06 is already on the market and the C6 has been around for almost 10 years and still makes a very good impression. The seats could offer a bit more side support, but are not a big criticism.
The enormous torque requires a sensitive use of the accelerator, otherwise traction will quickly reach its limits. Paradoxically, it is precisely this permanent surplus of torque that makes the Z06 seem "slower" than it is, as it is constantly and confidently at the throttle.
Unfortunately, the brake hit the tested car, which meant it didn't have 100% power, but basically the brake has no problem decelerating the Corvette, which weighs only 1,440 kg.
The top speed of 224km/h at the Pannoniaring suggests that this was also a test vehicle with a rather upwardly scattered performance.

CONCLUSION: The Corvette Z06 can justifiably call itself a super sports car and can almost be called an occasion in terms of value for money.
The fact that it is also the perfect cruiser for everyday use makes it perfect for all those who want to travel to the trackday on their own and still want to be at the top of the ring.
