SHORT CHARACTERISTICS
In the Audi R8 Spyder, the 525 hp V10 engine that also powers its Italian brother, the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4, provides an open-air concert of a special kind. But the luxury sports car also cuts a fine figure on the racetrack.

Markos Statement
The R8 surprised me very positively, as the body is unexpectedly stiff for a Spyder. The handling is extremely neutral and the Audi can basically be driven like a rear-wheel drive car despite all-wheel drive, i.e. it can be "steered" with the throttle but has the traction advantage of four driven wheels when it matters. Unfortunately, five-year-old tires were mounted on the test vehicle, which could not build up optimal grip, so that the Spyder could not play out this advantage 100% and had to admit defeat under value. The seats offer many adjustment options and the ergonomics fit, as well as the paddles on the steering wheel, which move along and I personally prefer to fixed mounted... The R tronic basically shifts cleanly and also gives intermediate throttle when downshifting, so there is no drag torque. The brake is finely controllable and decelerates well, in combination with the late-acting ABS and an engine that always has sufficient power, a total package that makes quite fun on the racetrack.
