Markos Statement
The Z4 M Coupe is one of the last representatives of the "old school" BMW M models: propulsion comes from a classic 3,200cc naturally aspirated inline six-cylinder that hangs on the throttle well and craves revs. Technically, of course, the Z4 Coupe is not quite up to today's standards, and despite KW suspension and semislicks, the tested model was only able to build up traction to a limited extent. This could certainly be remedied by a harder setup of the road-tuned suspension. The ergonomics are good, as is typical for BMW, and the seating position far back provides good feedback from the rear axle and additional "racing feeling". In times of DKG, DSG, etc. it is always fun to select the gears manually in a BMW six-speed transmission that shifts well, as in the Z4 M Coupe. The brakes do an impeccable job, but compared to Porsche, for example, the pedal pressure is relatively soft and could be a bit harder for my taste.
CONCLUSION: If you're not necessarily looking for the fastest track tool, but for a car that's easy to drive and, due to its design, provides a lot of fun at a brisk pace, then the Z4 M Coupe will certainly give you the "joy of driving" that BMW propagates.
