SHORT CHARACTERISTICS
The GP special model based on the John Cooper Works is the fastest production MINI of all time and has been specially modified for trackday use. In addition to a coilover suspension and more aggressive toe-camber values, the standard semis from KUMHO are primarily responsible for exceptionally good handling and fast lap times.

Markos Statement

Very agile overall impression and good turn-in behavior, even the rear axle "steers" well. The car is neutral and can be controlled quickly and well even for inexperienced drivers. The six-piston brakes decelerate extremely well even after repeated braking. The ABS only regulates very late when DSC is switched off and gives the driver a lot of leeway to go to the limit. The arrangement of steering wheel, pedals and seats fits, the ergonomics is top. The transmission shifts very well. Unfortunately, the tested MINI was not equipped with the standard KUMHO semis, which would certainly have allowed us to gain a few more seconds.

CONCLUSION: For unadulterated fun on the racetrack and faster lap times, the MINI GP lacks only a limited-slip differential, as front-wheel drive causes traction problems on the inside wheel of the corner.
